We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, reverse engineer, and troubleshoot custom gearing and industrial gearboxes.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as helical/spur gearing, gearbox assemblies and other mechanical assemblies.
- Analyze customer requests for quotes (RFQs) for manufacturing jobs.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications.
- Complete work according to standard of engineering principles and practices.
- Provide technical support during all stages to ensure alignment between customer requirements and production capabilities.
- Work closely with sales, and service teams, machinists, assemblers, and vendors to ensure project success.
- Support Quality Control and Manufacturing personnel to ensure geared products are manufactured and inspected according to both company and industrial standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to provide technical support, project updates, and solutions.
- Manage projects from quoting through completion, meeting customer timelines and quality standards.
- Create and review engineering drawings, models using Solid Works.
- Develop technical documentation for repairs and gearing.
- Provide input on process improvements.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage work orders and track project progress.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in gear and shaft manufacturing technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in gear manufacturing, gear design or related engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of gear and shaft types (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and gear production methods (cutting, grinding, heat treatment, etc.).
- Strong understanding of AGMA standards, how to apply them and appropriate uses of them.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, gear analysis tools, and JobBOSS ERP system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
